The Loveliest Little Stamford Wedding

Oh, what a gorgeous little wedding this was.

Nikki and Jason chose the beautiful Mayor’s Parlour at Stamford Town Hall to say their “I dos”, and honestly, there was something so incredibly special about just how intimate it all was.

No huge guest list. No fuss. Just Nikki and Jason, their best friends Pam and John, and Nikki’s daughter Gemma there to share it all with them.

It was such a beautiful, emotional ceremony, made even more personal by the music Nikki and Jason had chosen themselves. With only their very favourite people in the room, you could really feel just how much the moment meant to everyone.

Nikki looked absolutely beautiful in a champagne satin dress, with the loveliest flowers in warm, soft tones that worked perfectly with it. And Jason looked very dapper indeed in his three-piece blue suit.

Nikki's wedding bouquet included, roses, dahlias, lisianthus, stocks, astilbe, waxflower and eucalyptus.

Once the important bit was done and they were officially husband and wife, out came the bubbly!

Glasses were raised, congratulations were given and, with their music still playing in the Mayor’s Parlour, something rather lovely happened…

Nikki and Jason had a little first dance. Just the two of them, in the room where they had only just got married.

There was something so sweet about it. No big dance floor or crowd gathered around them, just a newly married couple taking a few minutes to dance together.

And I think sometimes those unplanned, uncomplicated little moments end up being the most special ones of all.

Afterwards, Nikki and Jason took a little time for themselves before heading out into the sunshine.

And Stamford really did show off for them.

They wandered through the beautiful old streets, enjoying their first little stroll as husband and wife, before making their way over the bridge towards The George Hotel. As they crossed, passing cars tooted their horns and locals gave them a little cheer along the way — one of those lovely, unexpected moments that makes you smile and just adds a little bit of magic to the day.

At The George, Pam, John and Gemma joined them again for a drink and the celebrations continued exactly as the whole day had begun — quietly, happily and surrounded by the people they love.

And that was Nikki and Jason’s wedding. Small, intimate, emotional and completely theirs.

Proof, if ever it were needed, that you really don’t need hundreds of people or a huge celebration to make a wedding incredibly special.

Sometimes you just need the person you love, your favourite people beside you, a bottle of bubbly, a sunny walk through Stamford…

…and a song to have your very first dance to.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Kemp — what a beautiful way to begin married life.
